Health is Wealth by Fenny WestYou must have heard the expression: ‘Health is wealth.’ Let’s ponder this truth. If you are healthy and scarcely see the doctor, you may take your health for granted. However, if you or your wife or husband is chronically ill; or if a son or daughter or even a relative that you have to look after are always poorly, it is a different matter. This is when you appreciate the truth that ‘health is wealth’. In this day and age where hospital waiting lists are like river Mississippi, and those who have the money are forced to go private, they know that a lot of money is spent to keep them going. Often those who do not have the money have to borrow to pay for their medical bills. They have had to sacrifice other needs, often basic necessities to pay these bills. Admittedly, certain illnesses set in at old age but we can delay their onset by our attitude to our health. While you are healthy, appreciate your health and maintain your health by applying the word of God to your body. Of course exercise your body from time to time as you do your spirit and mind. A healthy spirit and mind affect the body and vice versa. Thank God daily for your health, your organs your biological systems; for the correct functioning. Thank Him and praise Him that you are alive, you can talk, see, walk think, feed yourself because there are those who can’t. Specifically name the different parts of your body that are working well. From time to time make positive confession on the different parts of your body. Speak to the cells organs and systems. Tell them what God says concerning you; and tell them to comply to the word of the living God. Apply the word like a deterrent instead of waiting until you are sick. Also pray for those who are sick. Pray a prayer like this : Father I thank you for my health. I bless you for my lungs, legs, eyes, ears, hands, for their perfect functioning . Thank you that I can breathe properly. Thank You that I can walk and go wherever I want anytime. I give You glory that I can express myself and give you glory and honour and praise from my lips. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and no disease or sickness has any part with it. God’s word is medicine to my body. It is spirit and life to every part of my being. I will not die but live to declare the works of the Lord. I shall fulfil my destiny. Feebleness is not my portion; in Jesus’ name. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the Law and Abrahams blessing s are mine. God is my refuge and my strength. My life is hidden in Christ in God. No weapon fashioned against me prospers. No curse causeless shall alight on me. I thank You Lord, for renewal of strength, vitality, longevity to fulfil my vision and give You glory and honour. I uphold those who are sick. Lord, stretch forth your mighty Hand and touch them and heal them. Grant them relief from their pain. Flood them with compassionate people. Cause them to call upon you and be drawn to you in their hour of need; in Jesus’ name. Amen |
